As a healthcare leader in Cuyahoga Falls and the surrounding area, Western Reserve Hospital is collaborating with local restaurants, retail and service establishments to boost consumer confidence and create the safest environments for the community amid heightened awareness as businesses reopen within the COVID-19 landscape.
“Businesses across Ohio and the nation have seen many changes in operations over the last several weeks and we want to offer leadership and support to our local businesses,” said Dr. Robert Kent, President and CEO of Western Reserve Hospital. “Keeping our community healthy is our top priority. As we continue to see the reopening of our local shops, restaurants and service firms, we are offering expertise from our infection control staff to guide owners, employees and community members to achieve the safest experience by following strategies to maintain healthy and safe environments.”
Following guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as well as the Ohio Department of Health, Western Reserve Hospital has provided local shops, restaurants and service firms with comprehensive Safe Dining, Safe Shopping and Safe Service Pledge booklets detailing safety instructions recommended to ensure a clean establishment for customers and employees.
All booklets advise best practices for physical distancing, cleaning, disinfection, staff health screenings, handwashing techniques and proper face mask usage. Once the local establishments review the pledge specific to their business and implement all health recommendations, they are given validation signage to post within their business to inform the public they have been educated on and are committed to taking the steps necessary to keep their facility as clean as possible. This program is free to all local business and restaurant owners.
"We are very proud to take the Safe Dining Pledge. The safety of our staff and our customers is always our number one priority. Anything we can do to ensure that we are serving in the safest manner possible is a win for everyone,” said David Segen, Owner, The Kitchen on Front Street and Bellacino’s. "As we begin to reopen, it is important that we rebuild consumer confidence, and that starts with adhering to all of the recommendations from our local and national health partners. We are grateful to Western Reserve for putting this together for the community."
“While we are very happy to be back open, our top priority is to keep our employees and customers safe. We want the community to know that we are taking every safety precaution at Jean + Lou to provide a comfortable shopping experience,” said Whitney Milligan, Co-owner, Jean + Lou. “Western Reserve Hospital supports local businesses and their ‘Safe Shopping Pledge’ has provided us with the guidelines on how to operate our store with the upmost safety in mind.”
Western Reserve Hospital has also created a Safe Community Promise in partnership with the surrounding communities, which is designed to engage the public in a way that involves them in the process of change. As an organization, Western Reserve Hospital continues to carry out safety strategies throughout their own facilities and encourages the community to review their Safe Care Pledge.
