Western Reserve Hospital, in partnership with COLLIDE: Cuyahoga Falls and Cuyahoga Falls Chamber of Commerce, is proud to announce their participation in the Artists Sunday alliance to promote local artisans and craftspeople on Artists Sunday, celebrated on Sunday, November 29.
Artists Sunday, falling between Black Friday, Small Business Saturday® and Cyber Monday, is a day dedicated to encouraging consumers to shop with artists and give something special, unique and hand-crafted this holiday season.
Take time to support local artists, whose industry has been drastically impacted by COVID-19. According to the Ohio Labor Market, Ohio’s Arts and Entertainment suffers from the highest jobless rate, with one-third of the sector out of work, for the fifth consecutive month. Before COVID-19, the arts were a $41 billion industry in Ohio, employing nearly 300,000.
“Arts and Entertainment are an important part of everyday life, whether you are creating it or admiring the artwork of others,” said Kathy Romito, Community Relations Manager, Western Reserve Hospital. “We host multiple art exhibits at the hospital, not only to promote the local artists and their work, but because art promotes healing for patients. Participating in Artists Sunday alongside our community partners benefits everyone in our area.”
Western Reserve Hospital, COLLIDE: Cuyahoga Falls and the Cuyahoga Falls Chamber of Commerce greatly appreciate the culture artists create and the impact they have on the local community, while adding expression and beauty to our lives.
Each organization continues to immerse themselves in the artistic community of Cuyahoga Falls in many ways each and every day to support and boost the talent expressed and created by artists of all ages.
Artists from across the country partake in Artists Sunday, representing a full range of art, hand-crafted items and performances. The diversity of artisans allows consumers to shop art this Artists Sunday and give something personal and meaningful this holiday season.
