Kathy Romito, Community Relations Manager at Western Reserve Hospital, received NOACC’s (Northern Ohio Area Chambers of Commerce) “Bright Star Award” on Thursday, October 20 at a formal event at LaCentre in Westlake, OH. Romito received the award for her work as President of the Cuyahoga Falls Chamber of Commerce.
Every year, NOACC selects a major contributor to the chamber's success. The award is presented to an individual who has gone above and beyond in their role with the Chamber of Commerce.
“We’re extremely proud of Kathy and her commitment to numerous outreach endeavors in and around Northeast Ohio,” said Dr. Robert Kent, President and CEO of Western Reserve Hospital. “Her involvement benefits so many with whom she works with, and I can’t think of anyone more deserving of this special award.”
Kathy’s community outreach through Western Reserve Hospital as well as the Cuyahoga Falls Chamber of Commerce and numerous local organizations and partnerships has helped connect others through many prosperous initiatives and charitable events. She also works closely with area businesses, Fire/EMS/Police departments, schools, non-profits, churches, government agencies and more.
Romito is a graduate of Leadership Akron Class 34, Women’s Network CLI and both the Stow-Munroe Falls Chamber and the Cuyahoga Falls Chamber Commerce’s leadership programs. She is serving her fourth term as President of Cuyahoga Falls Chamber of Commerce and is the past-President of the Stow-Munroe Falls Chamber and continues to serve on the board. Also, she is the Vice-President of Collide: Cuyahoga Falls. Additionally, she is the past Vice-President of Women’s Network and currently serves on the Women’s Network Leadership Institute Council. Kathy is a member of the Cuyahoga Falls Rotary and past board member of the Downtown Cuyahoga Falls Partnership.
In addition, Kathy has chaired numerous community and fundraising events and served on many committees. She currently serves on Age Friendly Summit County Committee and served on Summit County Probate Court’s Senior Summit planning committee in 2022. She is working with the City of Cuyahoga Falls on their NEA Our Town grant. She is also part of the Andrea Rose Teodosio Art Auction, Bark in the Park for the Humane Society, Victim’s Assistance Mardi Gras, Better Block, Falls Friday Nights, and is the past Co-Chair for “All About Me”, a day for women.
Kathy earned her bachelor's degree in psychology and master's degree in counseling from Kent State University, and her certificate in development from Case Western Reserve University. She is a graduate of Sandler Institute Sales Training and is a Member of the President’s Club. Kathy was recognized as “Member of the Year” by Women’s Network in 2017, was named “Volunteer of the Year” in 2016 by the Stow-Munroe Falls Chamber of Commerce and “Business Person of Year” by the Cuyahoga Falls Chamber of Commerce in 2014. She was also named “Sales and Marketing Executive of the Year” by the National Sales and Marketing Executives of Akron/Canton.
