Cuyahoga Falls, OH, April 14, 2020 – The City of Stow is asking residents to show their respect for first responders and healthcare workers through lights. On Monday, April 20 and Monday, April 27, residents are asked to “Light Up Stow” by turning on their porch lights, placing lamps in their windows or illuminating luminaries.
“We just want our healthcare workers and first responders to know that they are not in this alone,” said City of Stow Mayor John Pribonic. “We can show our support through this small gesture of lighting our homes but, more importantly, through following the stay-at-home order and social distancing. They are sacrificing so much by putting themselves on the front lines fighting this pandemic, and we want them to know how thankful we are.”
Through the “Light Up Stow” initiative, residents can show their support for the city’s essential workers. Lights should be turned on at 8 p.m. on both days. Residents are encouraged to post pictures of their houses lit up using the hashtag #lightupstow.
