What do you like most about your specialty?
As I was going through Medical School and General Surgery Residency I was drawn to the specialty of vascular surgery. I love the variety that vascular surgery offers. As a vascular surgeon I get to perform open surgeries and minimally-invasive endovascular procedures. I see patients with complex vascular issues, some of which will require surgery but others can be treated with medication or exercise. One of the most satisfying parts of my job is the long-term relationships that I get to forge with my patients and their families as I follow them for their vascular problems.
What is your goal for patient care?
My goal for my patients is to try to get them back to a better quality of life. Each patient is different, so I treat each person and their vascular issues on an individual basis. I try to ensure that their needs and preferences are met as we address their vascular problems.
What are some of your interests or hobbies outside of medicine?
When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my husband and son. I am a big Cleveland sport’s fan and enjoy watching sporting events when I get the opportunity to do so.
