Leadership Akron’s Signature Class 41 spent a day in January learning about healthcare. Dr. Robert Kent, President and CEO, Western Reserve Hospital, served on a panel of healthcare executives and discussed the challenges facing the healthcare industry, including staffing, insurance reimbursement and the need to engage patients in their care.

The panel delivered a cohesive message about the need for additional services for patients beyond the hospital including food, transportation, and housing. 

Throughout the day, the class heard presentations from other healthcare providers including Dr. Gary Sipps, from Western Reserve's Behavioral Health division of the Center for Pain Medicine.
