About WRH

Western Reserve Hospital, partnered with University Hospitals, is Northeast Ohio’s only physician-owned, for-profit, full-service teaching hospital. The hospital is a majority physician-owned joint venture of Western Reserve Hospital Partners, which represents a collaboration of more than 200 physicians, including primary care physicians, surgeons, and specialists. We are committed to improving the patient
experience as well as the delivery of the highest-quality healthcare services available. The hospital is built on improving the patient’s experience and is fueled by a collaborative staff that continually pioneers new ways to deliver the best quality healthcare.

Western Reserve Hospital offers a multitude of specialty and general acute care services for our medical-surgical units, intensive care unit, emergency department, and inpatient/outpatient surgery department. Western Reserve Hospital is a certified stroke center, a Level III Trauma Center, an accredited bariatric surgery center, and graduate medical education teaching facility.

Pharmacy

The pharmacy department always works collaboratively with no distinction between roles. Every member of our staff is appreciated and supports each other and encourages professional growth and development.

The pharmacy department as a whole has a very good reputation throughout the hospital. Our contributions are appreciated by the physicians, nurses, and other ancillary staff. Working in a community hospital you get to work with many interdisciplinary teams and get to know the people you are working with to advance patient care.

Residents

Our pharmacy residency is integrated into the hospital’s graduate medication education department.  Our residents get to orient with and work alongside our medical and surgical residents. The medical and surgical residents come to rely on the pharmacy residents and see them as peers which helps develop relationships to improve the quality of care we deliver as a team.

At WRH you are not just a number. You will engage with multiple preceptors on a daily basis. Our program welcomes feedback from the residents to further improve our program.

Pharmacy Residency Mission

Western Reserve Hospital Pharmacy Residency Program is committed to developing confident and professional clinical pharmacists that are prepared for a variety of clinical roles, equipped to be lifelong learners, and driven by innovation and collaboration.

Diversity Statement

At Western Reserve Hospital we recognize that it is the individual skills and strengths of our team members that allow for our collective success. We strive for each person entering our facilities to feel our team spirit and collaborative nature while still recognizing the benefit of our diversity. Our shared sense of purpose and respect for the diversity that each individual brings to the workplace contributes to our ability to reach our goals and accomplish great things.
