Benjamin L. Manista, Artist
Born in Ravenna, OH in 1982, Ben Manista has been exploring the world of art since he was a toddler. A self-trained artist, the world is Ben’s inspiration – music, fashion, nature, media – and acrylic and glass paint, with fabric to add texture, is his medium. His organic art with a contemporary flair has been featured at Akrona Galleries and Uncorked. The goal of his work is to evoke happiness and encourage your mind to wander while making you think about your own forms of self-expression.

Mission
The Humane Society of Summit County (HSSC) cares and advocates for the abused, neglected, and abandoned animals of our community. Through education and support, we strengthen the bond between people and animals.
Vision
Create a community where animals are treated humanely.
Core Values
Compassion
We demonstrate kindness and respect to the vulnerable animals in our community. We rescue, rehabilitate and strive to ensure that the futures of these animals are filled with safety and love.
We serve as a resource to foster caring relationships between the residents of our community and their animal companions.
Influence
As the voice of the animals we serve, we bring awareness of their plight. We promote continuous improvement in animal welfare by communicating and advocating best practices in animal care. As leaders and educators, we set the standard of excellence for the treatment of animals.
Engagement
Our mission is only achieved with the collaborative efforts of our community, staff, and volunteers. Our community partners support and promote our mission as well as report suspected abuse to us. Our staff and volunteers are critical to our mission’s success and as such we promise to provide them with a supportive and positive work environment.
